This zip contains your sample swatches to use for clothes and your psp
file with your alpha channel selections unzip to a folder of your
choice
1. Open My Psp Image make a copy by clicking shift and The letter D and
close the original. And save it in case we make a mistake or for later
use. Open the swatches and straw and minimize till we need them. you
can extract the straw to tubes if you like it will make it easier to
use.
I made the plaid from a tutorial. And the other swatches I made myself
also. You may use them as you like. For this tutorial.
2. Name the image and save to file
3.Click the X on the sleeve layer on the layer palette to remove it.
click on the word sleeves when it is blue and there is no X it is ready
to use. This is the same for all the layers. Go to selections Load save
from alpha channel and load the selections from alpha channel click on
the sleeves selection. You will see little ant like dashes on your
palette. Make sure your paint bucket is set for match mode none. Blend
mode normal and opacity 100. then left click to flood fill with choice
of color or my swatch.(see image below to set materials) To fill with
my swatch it must be in the workspace of your screen, After you flood fill go to Selections Invert then Go to effects 3d effects and add
a drop shadow of h=0 v=0 o=100 blur=25 change the color to
#000000. Or your choice of color.Unselect by clicking ctrl and D or by
going to selections unselect. Then go to adjust Add remove noise & add
noise at 5% uniform

4.Click the X on the layer Head on the layer palette to remove it.
click on the word Head when it is blue and there is no X it is ready to
use. Go to selections Load save from alpha channel load the selections
from alpha channel. Select the Head Make your foreground color #E4CCA6
and flood fill. Selections Invert then Go to effects 3d effects and add
a drop shadow of h=0 v=0 o=100 blur=25 shadow color #8A7655 Then
selections select none or you may unselect by clicking on ctrl and the
letter D. Go to adjust add/remove nosies and Add noise at 5% uniform.
5. Click the X on the layer Overalls on the layer palette to remove
it. Go to selections load save from alpha channel and load the overalls
selection. flood with my swatch you like or a color of your choice I
used #50606D. Go to selections invert. Go to effects 3d effects add a
drop shadow of h=0 v=0 0=100 blur=25 using #1E2528 or a darker shade of
the one you used. Or you can use the denim swatch provided to flood
fill the overalls with.
6. Click on the X on the layer palette to remove it from the hat
layer. click on the hat layer when you see it blue it is ready to use.
Click on Selections at the top then go down to load save selections
choose to load from alpha channel then load your hat selection. flood
fill with #8E4A08. Invert the selection. And use the same drop shadow
as before only change the blur to 10, it will be saved for you with a
shadow color of #000000. Now the first hard part you will need to draw
a line between the hat top and the brim. It's not that hard just a
little scary the first time Click on your pen tool. Seen below.

7. Set it up as seen in the images above. Then using black set in the
foreground (top) and the background color (bottom) set as null
(nothing) add a new layer and draw a line between the hat and the brim.
then go to adjust then blur then gaussian blur and use the number 2.
This is why it is on another layer if we left it on the hat layer it
would make it blur too.
Almost done now take a break if your tired or frustrated from
drawing the line.
8. For His Face click on the head layer and add a new layer and Try
adding some buttons for eyes and nose and draw a little smiley face or
even a tube of a pipe ! Or you can use the ellipse and draw black eyes
and not put a nose if you like.
9. Now the fun part adding the stuffing the Straw!!
click on the red arrow to make it disappear on the straw layer. Click
on
the word straw that makes it the active layer when it is blue.
I have found that with the straw that I created for you it was easier to use
it as a copy and paste as a selection thing instead of a tube for this.
What will make it easier is to add it as selections to one pants leg then click on layer and duplicate layer, the go to image and click on mirror. Then move it to where you need it to be under the other leg.
We will need it sideways for the arms just click on the straw image
then go to image and rotate
clock wise at 90% for the arms and Add A new layer under the overalls layer, add some coming out of the sleeves
on the layer.
Once again after doing one sleeve click to duplicate the layer and image mirror then you have it under both sleeves. Add a new layer and make some coming out of the top of the
overalls and some under the hat for hair.
Play with this and have fun with it. see where your imagination can
take you. Make some patches with the swatches I gave to you. Using the rectangle slection and flood fill with the swatches. Use your rounded rectangle selection to make a pole in the ground holding up your scarecrow. Flood fill with #846D52
Selections, invert.
Apply the following drop shadow v=0 h=0 0=100 blur=10
shadow color= black. See how easy that is. Make some grass around it add a pretty sky maybe find a crow tube and put it on his sholder how cool is that?
