Country Window
This tutorial was written for V8 but can be done in V7 as it works with the
alpha channel selections.
This tutorial is my own idle time creation and any similarity to any other
tutorial is a coincidence. If you see any it is because I have learned my
work with psp from the many talented writers out there. You may find some
of their great influences in my tutorial's.(I made the selections from
pixel painting; so, like many country images they are not exact and super
smooth I think that is half the charm of country images.) If you want
smoother edges you can go to adjust, add/remove noise, then click on edge
perspective smoothing before you add any effects.
1. Open my alpha channel image, make a copy and close the original we will
work from the copy. Keep all layers invisible until needed as a guide.
2. Click on layer Left Shutter, Make visible, Load from alpha channel
selections Left Shutter, flood fill with color of choice, I used #274089.
invert selection, use the drop shadow Vertical and Horizontal =0, Opacity =
56, blur =36.6. color is #121D3C. Don't Deselect,
3. Go to selections, invert, then go to selections modify contract 5. Go to
effects, texture effects, blinds, width is 10, opacity is 100, horizontal
checked color is #121D3C, click ok. Deselect, add nose of 6% uniform.
4. On same layer Load from alpha channel Heart cutout, click delete.
Deselect. Go to layers then click on duplicate. Then go to image, Mirror
and move into place, Rename this layer Right Shutter. (you may have to
move this layer again.) You should have something like the image below.

5. Click on layer Horizontal Lines, Make Visible. Load from alpha channel
Horizontal lines, flood fill with your Choice of color. I used #F6F1DE.
Then go to selections invert, add a drop shadow of Vertical and horizontal
of 0, opacity 56, blur 12.60, using a corresponding darker color as the
shadow color. I used #CCBA82.Deselect Add Same noise. 6% uniform.
6. Click on layer Vertical Bars, Make visible. Load from alpha channel,
Vertical Bars. Flood fill with same color you just used. Go to selections
Invert, add the same drop shadow. Deselect, add same noise.
7. Click on layer Frame, make visible. Load from alpha channel Window
Frame. Flood fill with same color. Selections, Invert. Add same drop shadow
but change the blur to 23.40. Deselect add same noise. See Image below. You will need to move the frame a little to line it up with the bars. (oops sorry *smiles*)
8. Click on layer Flowerbox. Flood fill with same color you used for the
shutters. I used. #274089. Selections Invert. Use the same drop shadow you
used for window frame but change the color to #121D3C. Deselect. On same
layer load the Flower box lid from the alpha channel. Flood fill with the
same color. Selections Invert, and same drop shadow changing the drop
shadow but change the blur to, 25.50. Deselect and add same noise.
9. On same layer Add small heart, selections invert and add same drop
shadow. Deselect. Your window should look like the one below.
To Decorate your window behind the bars go to the Right Shutter layer Add A
new layer and add your graphic's behind the window. Add A new layer for
each item so you can size them and move them about. To add flowers to the
Flower box. Go To the Frame Layer and add A new Layer. Add your flowers
there.
See some images below of some decorated windows. Done By my Testers.
