While your there pick up the Fantastic Machine's Paint Engine it is free also
you won't be sorry.
I used that to make the center tile on here
1. Pick a black and white image to work with in this case we are using this cupid.
2. You May Need To Go to colors increase color depth to 16 million Depending on what image you use
3. Click on Effects, Texture, Emboss
4. You should now have this
5. Go To Layers Add a new Raster layer
6. Flood fill with the color you want for your background
Add a texture if you would like to use one.
You may want to choose a color that is a bit darker
Than what you want your resulting background
To be as it will lighten. I chose #CB57FB, And I also resized the cupid by 80%. But you do this how you would like it to look.
7. This will cover your image
Click on your layer palette
Right click on the arrow where it says normal Until you see the word
screen and make sure it is checked
8. Now you see your cupid. Play around with the blend modes Until you get it just how you would like it to be.
9. I used FM Tile Tools To make this a seamless tile.
10. Click on effects- Plug in filters- Fm Tile Tools - Seamless Tile
As you can see it works out quite nicely
Butterflies And Roses are my favorite to use though
Here Are Some Other Examples Of embossed Backgrounds
How about a rag top corvette for a more masculine look?
Or for a more feminine touch a nice butterfly
Even Santa would look rather unique embossed you think?
