My glass oval bubble and a base
1) Open your images you wish to use to decorate with as well as your images for inside the globe, such as flowers , birds etc. minimize these for now.
2) Open a tansparant image 300x450 (so you have room to add a base to your egg)
3) Add A new raster layer Name this layer Egg, Selections Load from disk and load egg shape, Choose what color you would like for you egg light pastels or white looks best *hint* I have chosen to use #E5CFDB. Flood fill the egg image. Keep Selected
4) Selections Invert go to effects, drop shadow and use these settings,
Vertical= -7, Horizontal= -10, opacity= 80, blur= 42.5.
Selections Deslect or hit ctrl + D.
5) Selections load from disk egg 2 , Hit delete on your keyboard. Add A new raster layer Name this layer Inside, flood fill this with a color you choose I chose a contrasting very light blue as it will darken with the drop shadow we are going to apply. You can use a lighter shade of your color or a lighter contrasting color that will accent your images such as flowers you have chose to put inside.
6) Selections-Invert, apply a drop shadow of, Vertical 23, Horizontal=26, Opacity =70 , blur= 44, on the same layer while still selected, apply another drop shadow of Vertical -10, Horizontal -10, opacity 70, blur 44. Deselect And Add noise at 4% uniform. This will even out your color a bit. open your layer palette drag this layer beneath your first layer. You may also need to add noise at 4% uniform to the outter color of your egg to even out the colors.
7) Open your layer palette and Add a new raster layer Name this what you want to, and add your tubes or image you have chosen, Add each on another layer,remember if you have to resize them to sharpen them. You may choose to add a drop shadow to them also I thought my background was dark enough already... Keep the center Selected.
8) Click on your Egg Layer Add a new Raster layer, Name this decoration. Now we want to add a decoration around the outside of this area. so you need to open your layer palette, click on the glasses part of the inside layer and the layer with your decorations/flowers etc. You will see an X and your layers will be invisible. If you lost your selection that is ok (make sure you are back on decoration layer) just go to selections and open egg 2 again. Now go to selections modify and expand by 5, flood fill this area with white,
9) Go to selections modify contract by 5 , then click your delete key on your keyboard. you should have a 5 pixel area that is white. Go to selections , select all, Go back to selections and click on float. Now the area is floating and has marching ants around it. Apply your favorite gold preset here. I used flaming pear shiny gold. You also can use a nice fancy dingbat here for the decoration. using the same process and add a gold preset.
