(I have set my workspace to use the psp7 workspace. Sorry I'm a little bit stuck on psp7. You can do that for this tutorial so I don't confuse you and change it back if you would like to. Read my tips and tricks on how to do this.)
Open your image you are going to use inside your candle and minimize it in your workspace
1) Open a new image 450x450 transparent
2) Using Your shapes tool Choose the Sphere, set as anti-alias, retain style, create as vector.
3) We are going to make a round candle so make a nice size circle in the center of your canvas. Click on view and rulers. Starting at
X60, Y90 draw your circle out to X285, Y306. Click on objects, then align then center in canvas. remember to save
4) Right Click on your layer palette and convert this layer to a raster layer. Go to colors , colorize, I am a purple mauve freak so lets see what we can come up with here. You use a color to match what you are going to place inside the candle or just your favorite color.
I used Hue 178 and saturation 80. A Nice looking purple color. Click on Effects Noise and Add noise at 5% uniform to even the colors a bit.
5) We will need to make this so it will sit nicely on your table. so pick your selections tool set it to rectangle feather 0, select a very small portion of the bottom of your candle and then click on your candle to make it surround the area then hit your delete key. try to make the area pretty close to a straight line. as we want to give a flat appearance. remember to save.
see image below
6) For the top we need a rounded look so choose the selection tool again only use the ellipse with the same settings, choose about the same amount of area. Go To Effects - 3D Effects - Cutout (see below) do a cut out with the settings you see below. depending on the color you chose for your candle choose a fill color about 2 shades darker, make your shadow color about 1/2 as dark in the screen shot is the colors i used for the purple candle. My Shadow color #433A6B, My fill Color #312D55. See Image below for coordinates. V=1, H=23, Opacity=100,
Blur= 5.00 Remember these colors we will use them again. See is it starting to look like a candle now?? Deselect and remember to save. Now I have a little piece hanging off the left side I will need to erase to have a more uniform look... Look at your candle and see if your bottom is nice and level.

Meet me on the next page to make your panorama area and your wick.
