Welcome To My Newest Tutorial
I made this tutorial using PSP 7.04
But I'm sure you can do it using PSP 6

This Is What We Will Be Making Today

Things you will need
This tutorial will be using Selections!
If you don't know how to work with selecitions
Karren of Artists 4 PSP has a good Tutorial

Artists 4 PSP

You will need A program like WinZipTo unzip them

For Mac users go here for a program called Zip It To Unzip the files

My Selection Files Are Below Here

You can use this denim patch or a pattern of your choice

Also you can add lace to the top of the pocket if you like
It looks great on the denim
Here is a link where you can get some Lace

Thank You Diana

Ok now we are ready to get to the pocket

1) Open a new image 250x250 transparant
(see image below)

2) Click on layers at the top add a new raster layer (see photo)

3) Choose Selections-load from disc - sspocket1.sel

4) Flood Selection With A pattern fill (or color you like)
you can use this denim it you like
I flood filled mine with, color #A0C0D6

5) Choose Selections - Load from disc - sspocket2.sel

Now we want to add accent to our pocket so
that it looks like our image is inside
filling the pocket, choose
colors-adjust-brightness contrast (see images)

Adjust the brightness to a number that makes
The Selected area a lighter color
for the denim I chose brightness 20 and contrast 0
And for the pretty pink color I chose
Brightness 15, contrast 0. But remember this is your project
So you may want to change the numbers
Till you like what you see.

6) Choose Selections Load From Disc - sspocket3.sel,
Again adjust the brightness and contrast
Remember to use the same numbers you just used.

(I added an optional 4th selection file for even more accent)

7) Now to add some outlines
Use your draw lines tool and with a darker shade
Of your pocket color use (for the pink pocket I used color
#B8006C) single line, width 1, only antialias checked.
Remember to use your color in the styles foreground and set
The background color to NULL.

And draw lines similar to the ones you see on my pocket.
With the denim you can use a darker shade of blue and use the
#5 dashed lines that comes preloaded with your PSP program.

8) To add your image to fill your pocket,
Add a new raster layer, Now go to layers - arrange - send to bottom.
Then add your tube or image to the pocket.
You will need to resize it to fit nicely just remember every
Time you resize the image to go to effects-sharpen one time.
Every time you adjust the size of the image it looses quality.

9) After You have added Your image.
Use your retouch tool set at size=2,hardness=100,
opacity=100, step=25, density=100 and shape round,
Use retouch to soften the areas we lightend. (see images)

10) Click on your top layer, right click,
Then click to merge visible.
You can add a background color and frame, and save as a jpg.
If you want a background on your pocket then
Export to Gif Optimizer. Use the wizard and remember to click to use best colors. Not use web-safe colors,
For some reason that lowers the image quality for me any way

Now there you have your pocket. I tubed mine after I merged visible, before I added my image. You can use it again and again. Using colors, colorize and playing with the colors make many different color pockets. Of course with the denim you are restricted there.
