(It has been decided that this It is Actually a Knick Knack shelf or a What Not Shelf)
I am adding another page to add a back to this and a glass front so come back soon and see if it is ready
I will change the Image name
After this tutorial Is no longer on FBN Listing Next Month
This is what we will be making
This is really a beginners Tutorial
I made plenty of screen shots for you
We will be using selections
If you don't know how to use selections, go back to
My "Pockets Of Sunshine" Tutorial there
is a link there to help you learn
While there are many shadow box tutorials on the net.
This one is unique. It is one I made in shop in Jr. High
I still have that shelf and it is hanging on the wall in
My computer room right now.
Click on the Folder Below to get Your Selection files
Let's get to building our shadow box.
1) Open a new image 350x350. We need plenty of room to work
2) Add a new raster layer
3) You need to pick a wood pattern and set
your back ground to that pattern turn
off your foreground.
3) click on selections-Load from disc- and pick shadowbox1.sel
4) Flood fill with your wood pattern
5) Deselect by clicking on CTRL and D
6) Now we are going to apply an inner bevel
Apply the inner bevel with the settings below
7) Add a new raster layer and load shadowbox2.sel
8) Deslect and apply the same inner bevel
** Remember to save often **
9)Add a new raster Layer and load Shadowbox3.sel
Deselect and add the innerbevel settings below
10) Add a new raster Layer and load Shadowbox4.sel
11) Deselect and use same inner bevel
Your shadow box should look like this now
* * Make sure to save * *
12) Now were getting to the tricky
Part so Read This Carefully
Now open your layers palett and click on the
Layer 1 (bottom) on the glasses to close it see image below
Now click on the top layer then click merge - merge visible
13) NOw this is where we cheat a little LOL
Go to layers at the top then click on duplicate. Make sure your on your merged layers not layer 1 (see below)
14) ok now click on your mover tool and pull that
duplicated layer over till it looks like this
Looks great don't it??
Only one problem now, you can see where the second box
Is sitting on top of the first one so we have to fix that
15) Now making sure your on the duplicate layer
Go to your layers palette and click on the duplicate layer
To make it the active layer
Set your eraser with these settings, round-size 4-
hardness 100 - opacity 100 - step 25 - density 100
Now you are going to erase only the part of the duplicate
Layer that is over lapping (see image below)
Ok now we're done. You can click on the top layer
Then merge - merge visible
See Below, You can export to your tubes
