A Globe which you can get from Here
P Ann's Place
Don't get lost this is one of my favorite Places on the Net. Get your globe and come back, you can always bookmark this page and go back later. What I really like about her site is her downloads are in layers so don't save them to your tubes folder. But a folder outside of PSP.
Now throw the kids outside or turn on cartoons you need a few minutes to do this *smiles*
Ready? Set? Let's Create !
(make sure to save often)
1) Open your globe and make a copy of it hitting shift + D close the original. (you may need to start over or want to use this globe again.)
2) Add a new raster layer by clicking on layers at the top, then click on layers again, and arrange, then send to bottom.
4) Click on your picture to make it the active image. Click on edit-copy
5) Click on your globe to make it the active image again, then click on edit-paste-as a new layer. name the layer "image" (make sure to save often)
5) Now the tricky part you want to use your mover tool to move it in a nice position so that you see a nice size lake area and some of the background also. You may want to resize the image, remember to click on effect sharpen if you do.
6) If you use the deformation tool it will stretch the image and move the lake area out of view so you need to be careful to have plenty of the lake showing. (see image below)
7) When you are satisfied with your placement of the image, click on the globe layer on your Layer Palette. then click on your magic wand. Click outside the globe. and you should have marching ants around the globe and the whole area also.
8) Click on the image layer, hit delete key two times. (make sure to save often)
9) You should have this now. (see image below)
10) Click on selections, invert then click on selections - modify - contract and put in the number 2.
11) Click on selections, invert again, check your layer palette to be sure you are still on the image layer and hit delete two times this gets rid of any jaggies outside the globe.
(make sure to save often)
12) When you are sure the jaggies are gone save the image.
13) Half way done now go get some coffee, relax a few minutes.
Times up get back to work now....
I wanted my image a little lighter
so I made sure I was on the image layer and clicked on color and adjust brightness by 20. This is up to your taste though.
14) Now we need to make two copies of this image, so click on shift + D two times. (remember you cannot move anything on this image now they all three have to be placed in the same place) (remember to save often)
14) Click on your retouch tool (the little hand with pointing finger) set it as you see below
15) Making sure you are on the image layer and your globe layer is invisible. Make soft, light even strokes from LEFT to RIGHT on the river part of the image. and some top to bottom strokes on the falls, Remembering water flows down hill, try not to smudge the dark rock into the water, try to make a semi circle just in front of the falls.
16) Do this to all three of your images. You will want to click on the top layer of your layer pallette then right click and Merge Visible. Make a folder called "Working Animations" in your documents folder. Save these as image 1, image 2, image 3. Remember to make sure you merged visible.
This doesn't show to much change but you will see it in animation shop
Ready to animate, come on now don't be late
Go to animation shop I will Meet you on the next page
Be thinking If you want to make a background for your globe.
